The Victims’ Services Division of the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office was established to assist victims with issues that may arise as their case proceeds through the court system.

The Worthless Check Unit serves the county’s business community by collecting worthless checks which were passed illegally to area merchants and to the general public.

Restitution Recovery Unit (RRU)

The District Attorney’s Restitution Recovery Unit collects past-due fines, court costs and restitution which have been referred to it for collection by courts located in Morgan County.

Morgan County Child Death Review Team

The Morgan County Child Death Review Team is a multidisciplinary team that reviews investigations of unexpected or unexplained child deaths in Morgan County.  The Alabama Department of Public Health is the oversight agency for the Alabama Child Death Review System of which the team is a part.

Child Advocacy Center of Morgan County, Inc.

The Children’s Advocacy Center is a private non-profit organization which brings a multidisciplinary approach to the process of interviewing and counseling child victims of physical and sexual abuse and their non-offending family members.  The center receives mail, and the board currently meets at the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office.

Pretrial Intervention Program (PTIP)

The Pretrial Intervention Program (PTIP) was recently established to provide alternative prosecutorial methods to assist the victim and court system, but also to utilize supervised corrective programs for first-time, nonviolent offenders.
